City Unveils New Logo and Brand Identity: "Just North Enough"
The City of Columbus is proud to announce the official launch of its new brand and logo, unveiling a bold, modern visual identity that reflects the city’s unique spirit, values, and location. At the heart of the rebrand is a new tagline: “Just North Enough” — a phrase that captures what makes Columbus a distinctive place to live, work, and visit.
The new logo features a stylized “C” with a northern star guiding the way, set against a vivid night sky and framed by silhouettes of evergreens. This imagery highlights Columbus’s natural beauty, close-knit community, and its position just outside the Twin Cities — offering the tranquility of rural life with convenient access to the metro area.
“This rebrand is more than a new look,” said Mayor Ron Hanegraaf. “It’s a fresh expression of who we are as a community — close enough to the action, yet far enough to enjoy the peace and space that define our way of life.”
The tagline “Just North Enough” resonates with both longtime residents and newcomers. It reflects Columbus’s unique location just north of the Twin Cities, offering a rare blend of accessibility and serenity. It also speaks to the community’s independence, neighborly spirit, and strong connection to nature — while embracing a forward-looking perspective.
“This is an exciting new chapter for Columbus,” said City Administrator Jack Davis. “The new brand speaks to the heritage, location, and character of Columbus.”
Davis noted that the effort began in August 2019, when the City’s Economic Development Authority (EDA) approved the formation of a Branding Subcommittee.
The rebranding process was guided by community input and a commitment to authentically reflect the city’s identity. In the coming weeks, the new visual design, messaging, and refreshed website will be introduced across city signage, digital platforms, public communications, and promotional materials.
