Potomac Street (County Highway 19) between Lake Drive (County Highway 23) and Broadway Avenue (County Highway 18) Update

The Anoka County Highway Department, in cooperation with the City of Columbus, has been developing plans for the reconstruction of Potomac Street from Lake Drive to Broadway Avenue.

In response to the valuable input received from the community and in consideration of significant environmental impacts identified during preliminary assessments, the County has made the decision to move forward with a pavement preservation project that will occur in the 2027 construction year. The project will preserve the existing geometric footprint of the roadway and minimize disturbance. This adjustment reflects our proactive approach to meeting infrastructure demands while embracing environmental responsibility and aligning with the community's evolving priorities.
